Data Streams: A crash course in data literacy using stream ecology

Level-up data literacy skills by practicing the "PPSTT" Framework for unlocking any graph's secrets. Students watch scientists model this approach & then try it on their own using multiple data types, including: the frequency of certain words in books, streamflow rates, and maps.

Trust is an explicit step in the PPSTT data literacy framework. Students will reflect and discuss whether they trust figures, underlying data, and the creators of figures. These discussions will be informed by videos of scientists discussing and evaluating the same data.
